English Orientation Programme Guides Basic Leadership Training Programme Intensive Teaching Practice School visits Local Visits Educational Tour Programme           English Orientation Programme       English Orientation Programme             Since four elements of communication skills in English Language have to form a part of teachers’ proficiency, the bridge course was organized to maximize the teachers’ competency in these skills i.e. Reading, Writing, Listening and speaking. A regular in house program for a duration of a week was put in place headed by Dr.A.Joycilin Shermila, Reader in English of our college.           Guides Basic Leadership Training Programme                     Guides Basic Leadership Training Programme                A teacher is often required to lead a team and always be ready to serve her pupil and the nation. For this we need to develop qualities and abilities on self-discovery, positive mental attitude, self-confidence, social etiquette, self-esteem, interpersonal skills, platform performance, behavior modification, goal setting, human values, time management, crisis management, art of organization and aesthetic sense.  So to achieve these qualities in our trainees, we conduct the Guides Basic Leadership camp for our students.                 Intensive Teaching Practice           Intensive Teaching Practice                 Our Students undergo intensive teaching practice in two phases. In the first phase they are trained in our own model school Subbiah Vidyalam for a week . This enable them to orient themselves towards the high ideals set forth by the highly dedicated and committed teachers of  Subbiah Vidyalam. In the second phase they undergo a regular macro teaching practice. Our students are put in 11 schools in and around Tuticorin which includes our model school as well.                                     School visits           School Visit                       Name of the special schools visit  by our students are 1. The School for the Blind, Tirunelveli 2. Bishop Saergent School for the Mentally Retarded, Tirunelveli 3. Florence Swainson School for Deaf and Dumb, Tirunelveli. By interacting with the inmates of the above schools who are physically challenged and having a very devastating stand in their life, our own students gain insightful knowledge of  their psyche and also an elevating inspiration to help these socially marginalized persons live the lives of their own with dignity and honor. The empathic understand of the problems for these physically challenged persons is very relevant to our own B.Ed. students who have to manage classrooms accommodating   students with varied mental calibre.               Local Visits         Local Visit                Local visits to places of interest such as New Harbour, Aquarium at Fisheries  College, Bharathiar Mandapam at Ettayapuram, Fort at Panchalakuruchi, Salt Pans, Dry Flower Factory, Venus Water Heater Plant, Lady of Snows Church, Nila Sea Foods, Cental Marine Fisheries Research Institute etc. is an enriching activity that helps our students to understand the cultural richness of our pearl city.                                             Educational Tour Programme        This Educational tour is comprises visits to most of the tourist destinations and other academic centers of learning in the northern part of our country. Our today's children being tomorrow's teachers will be enabled to widen their range of experiences as these places throw open to them the cultural variety of our country.
